About the Role

Our Small Business Coaches (Microenterprise Development Managers) work from a home-based office with regional travel to their portfolio of clients with the objective to provide individualised coaching to allow our clients to start, stay and thrive in their own business.

Some of the role’s responsibilities include:

  • Providing individual business coaching to your clients by offering guidance, encouragement and assistance across all key areas of business development with the goal of establishing to start their own business.
  • Where required, providing finance and other product support as your clients prepare, start, sustain and grow their business.
  • Managing client loan applications and preparing loan credit committee recommendations, and loan portfolio management.
  • Promoting and establishing relationships and key networks with local stakeholders, such as Job Actives, TAFE Colleges, Indigenous and community leaders, and relevant organisations and associations.

Who We Are Looking For?

You may have run your own business, been a business coach or have associated experience, with a strong financial or banking background. Have community development or social enterprise experience having managed budgets and business plans. We are looking for motivated self-starters who are energised by challenges and the opportunity to help people move themselves ahead in business and out of welfare dependency.

Key Selection Criteria:

Candidates are required to respond to the following Selection Criteria:

  1. Ability to provide business coaching to members of our community through both face-to-face and video conference.
  2. Tertiary qualifications in business, finance, or community development or equivalent experience. Experience in or working with small businesses and financials, business and cashflow planning. The ability to work with cashflows and interpret financial information.
  3. Demonstrated understanding of the challenges facing small businesses in the current environment.
  4. Experience with Stakeholder engagement, including presentations and workshops.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, incl. highly developed interpersonal skills with an ability to relate with a wide range of people, in a variety of settings.
  6. Current driver’s licence and ability to frequent intra-regional travel is required.

Successful candidates will be required to complete pre-employment checks including Criminal History check, Equifax Check and Working with Children/ Vulnerable People check, where applicable.
