Market Forces is an environmental finance campaigning project and affiliate of Friends of the Earth Australia. We advocate to shift finance and investment away from activities that harm the environment and into the protection and enhancement of the environment.

We are looking for a whiz at social media management, creative content production, digital campaigning and fundraising to help grow Market Forces’ power and influence.

Location: Melbourne

Salary: $71,032.00 (Note that as Market Forces is a Friends of the Earth Affiliate, this position will be a Friends of the Earth Australia employee).

Term: Full time to December 2019 with a view to renewal dependent on performance and funding availability.

Position reports to: Market Forces Executive Director

Key attributes required:

• Passion for protecting the environment and bringing about progressive social change.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to grow, manage and mobilise online audiences.
• Proficiency in graphic design and creative content production.
• Adept at structuring, shooting, editing and producing video content for publishing online.
• Ability to successfully use online donation platforms a bonus.
• Knowledge of climate change and energy issues a bonus.

Summary of key tasks and duties:

• Manage Market Forces’ social media accounts.
• Produce regular images and video content for use on Market Forces’ website and social media platforms.
• Achieve growth and impact objectives as set Market Forces’ social media and constituent database.
• Help deliver crowdfunding and community donation initiatives in order to meet agreed objectives for Market Forces fundraising.

Logistics and expenses

Market Forces can provide office space for this position in Melbourne.

Market Forces will cover costs incurred as a result of campaign work (e.g. travel, accommodation) but costs are to always be agreed beforehand with the Affiliate Coordinator / Executive Director.
