about the opportunity

Currently seeking a reliable and fit person to participate in the daily operations of my small lawn-mowing business, Meercut Mowing, whilst also assisting me with everyday activities like shopping, preparing breakfast and maintaining a clean and positive living environment.

The successful applicant will possess strong communication and customer service skills, and enjoy working outdoors. The position requires a level of fitness as this is an active role that can be physically demanding at times. It involves mowing, requires skill with a whipper snipper, and the ability to use or learn to use small hand tools like blowers, hedges, water pressure washing units. The role also involves general gardening and landscaping duties.

This role can be adapted for the right candidate. I am interested in someone who has both gardening and support skills as I also need assistance with other areas in my life due to the fact I am not able to easily get out and about day-to-day. Prior experience supporting someone with disabilities or mental illness is a big bonus.

This role can have flexible hours, permanent part-time can be considered for the right applicant after a probationary period. To begin, the role requires that you have your own ABN and insurance.

Pay starts at $35 per hour before increasing after successful completion of a 3 month probationary period, and then again after 6 months. By the end of your first year you will earn above $45 per hour.

• Prior experience supporting a person with mental illness and/or an understanding of the challenges that present when living with disability.
