As our Events and Communications Coordinator, you'll collaborate with an agile communications team, people with disability and other stakeholders to deliver great outcomes for the people we support here at Melba. We celebrate the achievements of our Melba community and bring one of our core values - Fun - to life in our end-of-year events and for our annual Melba Awards.

You'll be working closely with internal teams to shape and organise events that cater to the unique needs of our stakeholders. Not only will you plan and promote these events, but you'll also get to craft compelling content promoting these events along with other key internal communications.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and consult with internal stakeholders to develop successful events that align with our organisational objectives and culture.
  • Coordinate the end-to-end event planning process, from inception through detailed planning to execution and reporting.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets to ensure seamless logistics and successful event execution.
  • Develop written and visual content targeted to our stakeholders and specific audiences identified in internal events and communications plans.
  • Manage all aspects of event logistics, building, vendor management, attendee management, scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation.
  • Manage suppliers including sourcing, negotiating with event vendors, designers, entertainment and more.
  • Coordinate annual events planner and communications calendar.
  • Manage inbox requests on behalf of the communications team.

About You

You have a genuine excitement for internal events and communications that engage and have an impact.

We are human rights driven and have a strict Zero Tolerance approach to all forms of abuse. You share this passion and have experience planning and running events with a wide range of communications and marketing skills across digital and traditional channels.

  • 5+ years’ experience in an event coordination role with proven delivery of large and small events, on and off-line.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite programs
  • Outstanding ability to write and design communications for a variety of audiences.
  • Strategic mindset: Aligning internal events and communications with organisational goals and objectives.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead delivery of events across Victoria.
  • Excellent computer literacy and digital communications know-how.
  • A close eye for detail with experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to service excellence, human rights and zero tolerance.
  • Capability in design packages including Canva (Desirable).
  • Tertiary qualification in events management, communications, marketing or similar.
  • Willingness to travel across Victoria as required.

You will also bring with you or be willing to obtain:

  • NDIS Worker screening Check
  • Working with Children Check
  • Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination status, including booster
  • Victorian Drivers License
