The Menzies Aboriginal Corporation Board of Directors is seeking to employ an Executive Manager to lead its operations in the small town of Menzies WA. Menzies is approximately 725kms from Perth located in the Northern Goldfields. Together the Board and Executive Manager ensure the organisation continues to be relevant to the community, living out its vision and goals along with being accountable to its members. The position is full-time and ongoing with the current salary at $90,072 per annum.

The Role

The Executive Manager in partnership with the Board is responsible for the success of the Menzies Aboriginal Corporation. Together the Board & Executive Manager ensures the organisation continues to be relevant in the community, living out its vision and goals along with being accountable to its members.

The Board delegates responsibility for the management and day to day operations of the organisation to the Executive Manager. The authority to carry out these responsibilities is in accord with the direction and policies established by the Board. The Executive Manager provides advice and support to the Board as it carries out its governance functions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides professional & educated guidance to the Board on current & future initiatives & activities.
  • Periodically evaluates the performance of the organisation and reports the results to the Board Provides general oversight of all MAC activities, manages day to day operations, and ensures a functioning efficient organisation.
  • Maintains a work environment that is inclusive, supportive & professional.
  • Recruits and oversees qualified and experience staff to fulfil roles in contracted services and key service delivery areas
  • Works with the Board Executive (Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson & Treasurer) to enable the Board to fulfil its governance functions and to value its board members contribution Ensures the Board has available to it the best advice possible to enable fully informed decision making.
  • Assists the Chairperson on focusing the Board on strategic issues Initiates and develops cooperative relationships with key stakeholders within the community, region and State
