About the Role

The role will focus on leading the Lived Experience Engagement and Workforce Development Project, a partnership approach between Brisbane South Primary Health Network (BSPHN) and Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Service, (MSAMHS). This project aims to guide and inform the strategic approach to embedding lived/living experience throughout the co-production cycle and building the peer workforce in alignment with the Brisbane South Joint Regional Plan (a joint initiative by the PHN and MSAMHS) and National Mental Health Reform agenda.

  • Practically apply your knowledge and understanding of lived/living experience and peer work values into all aspects and activities relating to the role.
  • Scope current national and state lived/living experience and peer workforce frameworks, policy, best practice approaches and evidence-based resources to inform the strategic approach to lived/living experience engagement and peer workforce development and enhancement.
  • Work across the PHN and AMHS to support the alignment of the lived/ living experience engagement and peer workforce strategy between the services and embed learnings to support a shared strategic response.
  • Work collaboratively with service providers and partners to identify and embed key strategies to build commissioned services' capacity and capability to engage, support and grow the lived/living experience engagement and peer workforce across the sector.
  • Provide guidance and oversight on Lived/living Experience and peer workforce projects, as required.

Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services (MSAMHS) delivers a broad range of specialist addiction and mental health services within the Metro South catchment. These include community-based ambulatory and residential services, acute care services in the community, psychiatric rehabilitation, consultation-liaison to hospital wards and emergency departments and addiction services. We provide inpatient services at the Princess Alexandra, Logan and Redland Hospitals. We deliver the state-wide Deafness and Mental Health and Queensland Transcultural Mental Health Services and house the Queensland Postgraduate Psychiatry Training Unit.
