About the Role and You

We are looking for a LEW Level 3 Family/Carer Consultant to join our team of Lived Experience staff to support engagement and participation within the Mental Health Program. You will have a Lived Experience of caring for a family member, partner, or close friend who has received treatment in a public mental health service. You will have experience of working in a Lived Experience role, such as a Peer Worker, a Carer Consultant or equivalent, and a detailed understanding of the current issues affecting the carer community.

In this role you will use your Lived Experience of caring for someone with a mental illness to contribute to service governance, co-design, quality improvement, and evaluation from the carer Lived Experience perspective. You will provide advocacy, advice, and consultation from the carer Lived Experience perspective via various means including meetings, working groups, staff training and education, and quality improvement projects. You will support partnering with carers through the recruitment, orientation, and ongoing support of Community Advisors. You will work alongside the Senior Family/Carer Consultant to support administration of the Carer Support Fund and the annual Carer Experience Survey (CES). This role is responsible for providing Carer Perspective Supervision to members of the carer Lived Experience workforce in the Mental Health Program.
