Our Journey - Casey Day Surgery Unit

Our purpose-built Day Surgery Unit consists of two procedural rooms performs Endoscopy and Urology procedures. Working alongside a 6 Operating Theatre Complex, the surgical specialities also include plastics, urology, gynaecology, general surgery, ENT, orthopaedics and colorectal.

A day in the life

No two days will be the same as you work within an established, friendly and supportive team environment, working closely together to care for patients along with providing opportunities for staff development and growth in areas that staff are passionate about.

We are excited to announce that we are seeking Registered Nurses with relevant Endoscopy and/or Anaesthetics/Recovery experience to join our friendly team within the Day Surgery Unit at Casey Hospital.  You will have previous experience working in a fast-paced environment, while still providing exceptional patient care experiences.

We currently have permanent and temporary opportunities for experienced Registered Nurses.

With your well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, you are easily able to liaise and engage with others at all levels to deliver outcomes in a timely manner.  As someone with a strong work ethic, self-motivation and personal values your contribution with the team will support each other and our organisation to be leaders in our field with exciting and progressive treatment and care.

Post graduate qualifications are highly regarded; however, this is not essential. Above all, you are always absolutely committed to safe professional practice conducted within scope. You are an advocate of Monash Health’s Strategic Guiding Principles.

You are adaptable to a changing environment as we work together to deliver first class service.  Alongside your caring and engaging manner, you have a positive work attitude and a strong people-person focus allowing you to engage with our patients and their families.

You also have:

  • Experience working within Endoscopy and/or Anaesthetics/Recovery and/or a critical care environment
  • Flexible working style to adapt to changes through the day
  • Critical thinking, analytical & problem solving skills
  • Genuine thirst for learning and open to further study
  • Compassionate manner, advocating for patients in their vulnerable state
  • Hold a current Victorian Employee Working with Children’s Check
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Australian working rights
