About the Role

As Manager, Medical Workforce, your new role will see you take responsibility for providing strong leadership and development of local workforce strategies related to the effective management of the medical workforce for NBMLHD.

Partnering with the Facility and Service General Managers, District Director of Medical Workforce and Nepean, you will identify and establish clear KPIs for the unit whilst monitoring performance against service level agreements, benchmarking to identify system and process improvements.

Utilising you superior managerial and operation expertise, you will ensure the delivery effective workforce advice and services related to the administration of the medical workforce. Key functions will include medical administration business plans and effective management through the provision of specialised expert advice and operational support in all aspects of human capital management for the Medical Workforce. Additionally, you will oversee the end-to-end recruitment process for the medical workforce, including planning, managing and evaluating the annual recruitment of all junior medical staff and the Quinquennium re-appointments process for Visiting Practitioners of the Local Health District. In consultation with the District Director of Medical Workforce.

As a strong communicator in both written and verbal, you will be adept at leading and developing others whilst creating a positive working environment in a high performance culture.

Selection Criteria to be addressed

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Health Management, Workforce/Human Resources Management or a relevant business degree. Or substantial experience in managing a medical workforce within a large, complex and diverse service industry organisation.

  1. Demonstrated ability to lead and engage a team to deliver high-performance outcomes relating to providing the full range of workforce services. Preferably in a medical workforce context. Enthusiasm and enjoy embracing new challenges in line with strategic workforce initiatives and business planning and look for creative and innovative opportunities for improvement and the ability to implement change management processes.
  2. Demonstrated high-level communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to consult, influence and negotiate with senior stakeholders to gain input and commitment to reform, work collaboratively with peers and drafting detailed briefings, project documentation and reports.
  3. Demonstrated high-level organisational skills with experience in balancing strategic and operational management agendas.
  4. Demonstrated understanding of and experience in financial management related to Medical Workforce service provision, with consideration and interpretation of relevant awards.
  5. High level analytical and problem-solving skills, including exercising initiative and judgment to rectify issues and develop, implement and monitor innovative solutions.
  6. Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office applications and workforce systems.
