Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District has on offer a Permanent Full time or Part time role for a Registered Nurse to join the Medical imaging/Radiology Department located at Nepean Hospital.

This role will see you ensure optimal outcomes for patients/clients and carers of the service through the promotion of best practice including the appropriate escalation of care whilst working collaboratively utilising effective team communication with members of the multidisciplinary health team in the planning, implementation, assessment and evaluation of patient care. At all times you will act as an advocate for the specific needs of all patients/clients and carers including those from the indigenous population or other multi-cultural groups providing appropriate care to the patient/client undergoing specialised procedures.

Working as part of the Medical Imaging team will see you utilise a proactive, problem solving approach in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating all aspects of clinical care which will allow you to meet the needs of staff, patients and their families whilst working in a diverse team demonstrating CORE values whilst providing exceptional person-centered care.

Selection Criteria

  1. Current registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  2. Demonstrated acute care experience as a registered nurse (including Completion of a new graduate RN program or equivalent experience working as a Registered Nurse)
  3. Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work
  4. Demonstrated evidence of being able to provide person centred care
  5. Demonstrated effective communication skills – written and verbal
  6. Demonstrated commitment to professional development
  7. Ability to work a flexible roster, day, evening or night shift across all days of the week according to the unit/service requirements
