  • Full-time, 5 days, 38 hours or part time options available
  • Fixed-term contract until 30 June 2022

About the role:

Desired Skills and Experience

Working in collaboration with the NDS Quality and Safeguarding team this position will provide specialist quality and safeguarding consulting services to support the disability sector in the transition and implementation to the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Commission requirements. Through sector consultation this position will identify and build on strategies to further develop the capacity of providers in quality and safeguarding.

Remaining up to date on the latest NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Commission and government requirements, assisting providers on the implementation and ongoing requirements in addition to the development of resources and workshop delivery will be a significant focus of this position. Key will be working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including government and disability sector organisations.

This position requires attending sites where proof of COVID-19 vaccination or exemption may be required.

It is expected that the position holder is aligned to, and demonstrates NDS’s values of respectteamwork and collaborationleadershipinnovation and accountability at all times.

About You:

  • Detailed knowledge of the NDIS Quality & Safeguarding requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including a proven ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels in a confidential and impartial manner
  • Extensive experience working within the disability services sector ideally within a contractual, coordination, quality or service-based role
  • Strong computer literacy including reporting, data entry, data management and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Teams
  • High level capacity to develop and deliver presentations (including in a training environment), materials and resources to assist and promote quality and safeguarding in the disability sector
  • High level consultation, communication and interpersonal skills with the demonstrated capacity to engage successfully with a range of external and internal stakeholders to achieve results and support change
  • Demonstrated understanding of the issues facing the disability sector and a strong commitment to improving outcomes for people with a disability, particularly in regards to human rights, citizenship, quality and safeguarding and;
  • Strong written communication, including the ability to write clear and accurate reports.
