North Richmond Community Health (NRCH) is committed to making healthcare more accessible and culturally relevant. With the recent addition of Victoria’s first Medically Supervised Injecting Room, NRCH works with community members to support social justice principles which afford all people the right to dignity, respect, and the highest quality of care.

NRCH provides a range of medical, allied health, dental and community services to clients from all backgrounds.

The Accredited Practising Dietitian (Ongoing Part-time 0.7EFT) will work across both Allied Health teams – The Healthy Aging Hub (HAH) and the Child Health and Development (CHAD) teams.

Within these teams the dietitian will promote wellbeing in individuals and the community through provision of professional, targeted one-on-one and group services to eligible clients, including those from CALD backgrounds. The role will also involve utilisation of health promotion and prevention strategies within a multi-disciplinary team environment to ensure high standards of health care are being provided to clients.

Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide high quality, culturally appropriate dietetic services to individuals and groups of clients.
  • Work closely with other staff and programs across the organisation and external agencies to ensure multi-disciplinary care and appropriate referrals are available to clients.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff and other agencies in the development and implementation of health promotion initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and regular record of activity reflective of medicolegal, funding and billing requirements.
  • Monitor and order educational materials, literature and Dietetic clinic supplies within budget constraints.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential qualifications, attributes and skills include, but are not limited to:

  • Bachelor or Masters of Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Registered with the Dietitians Association of Australia as Accredited Practising Dietitian.
  • At least 2 years’ experience (full time or equivalent) as an Accredited Practicing Dietitian, preferably within the community health sector
  • Confidence providing service across the age spectrum
  • Knowledge of HACC-PYP, CHSP, NDIS and Community Health Program funding and assessment requirements
  • Knowledge of, and commitment to, Health Promotion principles and practices
  • Ability to provide appropriate services to people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and with complex health and social issues

Please note it is a requirement for all employees of North Richmond Community Health to demonstrate evidence of mandatory immunisations/vaccinations prior to commencement of employment, based on the Immunisation Category their position falls under.
