New Haven Farm Home is seeking experienced Support Workers to join their passionate team. Reporting to the House Manager your role as a Support Worker will be to provide person-centred and individualised support to New Haven Farm Home’s client while embodying the organisations mission, vision and values.

About the Role
To succeed in this role you’ll be a dedicated and motivated individual who is committed to seeing their clients achieve and surpass their individual goals, maximising dignity, personal growth and independence.
This role is casual with a view to part-time and will see you support clients across the organisations five accommodation sites throughout Freemans Reach and Richmond.
Specifically, the role will see you:
- Provide a high-quality support to our participants through person-centred programs designed to maximise quality of life.
- Promote programs that encourage a healthy lifestyle in in terms of physical & psychological fitness, nutrition.
- Create opportunities for clients to become as independent as possible and allowing them to be a member of mainstream community life.
- Supporting clients to realise their goals and interests in their personal life, their community, their work and their leisure activities.
- Provide personal care to clients and where required safely administer medication in accordance with relevant organisational protocols.
- Maintain residential services to a safe and hygienic standard undertaking cleaning and light gardening duties as required.
- Transport clients as required;
- Complete regular reporting and identify any changes in a clients circumstances or needs, acting on these changes as required.
- Follow relevant Work, Health & Safety procedures to ensure both individual and client safety.
About You
Ideally you will be an dedicated support worker with exposure to supporting people in areas such as personal care, health and well-being, active community participation, administering medication and skill development. You will also have:
- A current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one before commencing employment;
- Current Driver’s license;
- National Police Clearance Certificate or willingness to allow New Haven Farm Home permission to seek such certificate;
- Working With Children’s Check or willingness to obtain one before commencing employment.
- Reasonable physical fitness, health and resilience to fulfill the physical demands of the role;
- An understanding and commitment to WH&S and Disability Services Standards or willingness to learn;
- Knowledge and ability to implement contemporary approaches such as person-centered planning or active support;
- Availability to work a 24/7 rotating roster;
- Computer literate and able to use MS Word, Outlook & be comfortable with data entry;
- Demonstrated capacity to collaborate as part of a diverse team and also work autonomously;
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems and use initiative;
- Strong communication skills and demonstrated flexibility in methods of alternative and augmentative communication, particularly being able to use active listening skills.
It is also desirable that you have obtained a minimum of Certificate III in disability or alternatively you have a commitment to working towards a relevant qualification.
