The Program Support Officer will play a key role in providing support and coordination of activities and projects within the Primary Health Care Improvement (PHCI) team. The PHCI team aims to strengthen primary care to deliver integrated, person-centred care that is comprehensive, accessible, safe and coordinated through our Quality Improvement Program.

About Us

We are North Western Melbourne Primary Health Network (NWMPHN), Victoria's largest independent, locally governed and run, not-for-profit PHN, dedicated to improving primary health care in our community.

What are PHNs?

PHNs have been established with two key objectives:

  • increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of services for community members, particularly those at risk of poor health outcomes
  • improving coordination of care to ensure people receive the right care in the right place, at the right time

A typical week may include:

  • Providing project coordination and set up for general practice quality improvement projects, including administration, monitoring of project plans, actions, timelines and risks
  • Triaging and responding to central Primary Care email inbox, and coordinating follow up by PHCI team members
  • Supporting PHCI communication activities by coordinating and, developing articles for the General Practice News, expressions of interest, and other quality improvement resources
  • Assisting general practices with the implementation of PEN CS data software, including onboarding, updating user lists, supporting data submission process, and licensing

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Has tertiary qualifications and/or relevant experience in health science, social science, education or other health related area
  • Is able to use technology and systems effectively, including Microsoft word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ability to rapidly acquire familiarity with new software and technology
  • Has experience managing and implementing systems, reporting and administration activities
  • Has well-developed skills in written and verbal communication, and the ability to develop, review and edit documents
  • Wants to play a part in improving health outcomes for people in North Western Melbourne
