The role:

The Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for the facilitation of the Nulsen Youth Patron Program. This leadership development and community engagement program is one of a kind fostering social wellbeing and harmony by enabling school students to improve the quality of life for people with disability. The Coordinator is responsible for facilitating a variety of internal and external communications, events and partnerships initiatives. No two days are the same! The role is proactive engaging with young people – our future leaders, and the communities that support them.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan, implement and evaluate all aspects of the Nulsen Youth Patron Program and Alumni
  • Prepare regular written and verbal reports on Program activities
  • Work collaboratively to develop and maintain robust relationships with participating Schools, Nulsen Youth Patrons and Alumni and program partners
  • Foster youth leadership and community engagement through educational and student-led volunteering and philanthropy activities
  • Plan and manage internal and external events

Experience required

  • Minimum 3 years’ disability / human services experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organisational, and time management skills
  • Ability and energy for engaging with a multitude of stakeholders
  • Actively embraces and integrates Nulsen Disability Services’ vision, purpose and values
