We are seeking a Payroll Officer to join our payroll services in Peoplekind Group. We are a team that enjoy different challenges every day and we do so by supporting each other and having fun.

The payroll team is responsible for processing the end-to-end fortnightly pay cycle. The team are involved with all aspects of a typical payroll processing function, working with internal and external stakeholders including your colleagues in Human Resources, Learning and Development and other managers and teams in the group

This is a complex and customer focused role, you will be a flexible and solutions focused person that thrives in a team environment working with queries ranging in complexity and meeting key deadlines.

To be successful for this position, you will ideally have:

  • 12 months payroll experience; ideally in payroll processing, with Sage Micropay experience preferred.
  • Experience using timekeeping/rostering systems.
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation and processes, i.e. taxation and superannuation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong customer service orientation.
  • The ability to effectively interpret different Awards (SCHADS)
  • Accurate and efficient keyboard and data entry skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong organisation skills with the ability to manage and prioritise own workload, demonstrate initiative and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Prior experience in a similar role processing high volume payroll is essential
  • Experience with Sage Micropay (highly regarded)
  • Demonstrated experience in interpreting Modern Awards (SCHADS is highly regarded)
  • Aptitude towards using paperless, digital, and innovative payroll systems and processes
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritise and manage a demanding, high-volume payroll
  • Resilience with a focus on being pro-active, flexible, and innovative
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Displays professionalism, integrity, self-motivation, energy and initiative
