Organisational Overview

Established in 2000, the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF) has grown to become Australia’s leading independent body dedicated to funding national ovarian cancer research.

With the support of the Australian community, major corporate partners, philanthropic supporters, and the extraordinary OCRF Ambassadors, the OCRF is now Australia’s pre-eminent charitable foundation dedicated to raising funds for the most innovative ovarian cancer research with the most significant long-term impact.

Our goals are to raise the current 5-year survival rate from (a dismal) 49% to greater than 90%, and to provide hope, advocacy, agency and engagement for our community of survivors – with government, funders, collaborators, partners and the medical research community.

We are:

  • Investing in medical research to develop a reliable and non-invasive early detection test, where no such test currently exists.
  • Supporting researchers focused on personalised treatment options to extend the quality and duration of the lives of people with ovarian cancer.
  • Focused on prevention and, ultimately, cure, of the most lethal and underfunded gynaecological cancer for women, girls, and all people with ovaries.

Donor and Events Coordinator

The Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF) is seeking a highly organised and driven individual to fill the newly created role of Donor and Events Coordinator. This exciting position is responsible for supporting major donor engagement and growth of the OCRF’s donor development strategy. The position also coordinates all OCRF functions, events, programs and projects for new and existing mid-level and high net worth individuals and other partners.

Working within the Philanthropy & Corporate Partnerships team, and closely with the Marketing & Fundraising Team, the successful candidate will key to fostering strong and engaged relationships with mid-tier and major donors to establish and grow their contributions.

The Donor and Events Coordinator will also deliver memorable, high-quality event and function experiences for key OCRF stakeholders.

Hours and conditions

  • The role is offered as a full time, fixed term contract position for two years.
  • Hybrid work environment. Minimum 2 days/wk in the office.
  • Flexible and remote work arrangements can be negotiated.

Key responsibilities of the position

  • Identify and coordinate opportunities for donor engagement and growth.
  • Maintain donor data and provide analytics and reports.
  • Coordinate event operations and logistics.
  • Contribute to a high performing and thriving work culture.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Relevant tertiary education and/or experience working in donor engagement or relationship management, in fundraising or other relevant and aligned field.
  • Previous role/s in non-profit environment will be highly regarded.
  • A sound track record and experience in the planning and delivery of high-quality events, functions, and/or donor/funder-related projects.
  • Experience in representing an organisation to an excellent standard.
  • Expertise and skills in relationship building and supporter/funder relationship management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal, listening and written communication skills.
  • Strong research and dada analysis skills to support recommendations for growth.
  • High level organisation and planning skills suitable to support the delivery of events whilst managing multiple relationships and tasks.
  • High level of empathy and insight suited to relationship management and donor development.
  • Able to manage priorities and workplace performance across competing timelines.

Desirable

  • Experience and competency in use of a CRM database. Salesforce NPSP experience is highly regarded but not essential.
  • Completion of FIA Certificate of Fundraising.
  • Experience and competency in developing and delivering impactful pitches and presentations.

Salary

$75,000-$80,000 plus superannuation and salary packaging benefits
