Who we are

North Coast Primary Health Network is an independent, not-for-profit organisation committed to improving the health of North Coast communities. Primarily funded by the Australian Government, we work alongside local health care professionals, social services and hospitals to support our communities and address gaps in our local health services.

About the role:

We are seeking a Deputy Director – Healthy Living and Ageing to provide strategic leadership of NCPHN’s older persons programs and commissioning activities.

Reporting to the new role of Executive Director - Wellness, this position is responsible for driving NCPHN’s vision of Better Health for North Coast Communities with regards to preventing chronic disease and providing high quality primary health care services for older people. The role supports health and social services to work in a more person centred and integrated way; supporting people with chronic illnesses to live independently and connected in their community while managing their health proactively and at home when safe and appropriate. The role also supports greater integration between primary, hospitals and specialised aged care services including in end of life care planning and support.

About you

You will be passionate about the health of North Coast Communities; encouraging innovation and new ideas; creating an environment for the development of new approaches and creative solutions.

You will also have:

  • An excellent understanding of care for older persons in primary care, the funding environment, policy trends, secondary versus primary care models of care, barriers and opportunities for enhancement
  • The ability to undertake research to facilitate planning, undertake market analysis and engagement, co-design services with community members and clinicians, oversee procurement processes, and proactively manages provider relationships and evaluates services
  • High level communication skills, including being adept in facilitating small and large groups, confident public speaking, an active listener, the ability to tailor messages to stakeholders and create opportunities for others to contribute to discussions
  • The ability to lead transformational change in a complex and fast-paced environment; drive capability development and encourage continuous learning and reflection.

Salary Information

  • Full time position (38 hours per week)
  • Base work location is negotiable (Ballina, Lismore, Coffs Harbour, or Port Macquarie)
  • Significant intra-region travel and work outside standard office hours may be a requirement of this role
  • Salary will be negotiable by way of Individual Contract ranging from $110,000 to $120,000 per annum + super guarantee
  • Generous salary packaging opportunities to eligible employees, who are entitled to salary package up to $611.50 per fortnight ($15,899 p.a.) before tax.
