Palmerston Association is a leading and respected not for profit organisation supporting people with alcohol and other drug issues in Western Australia.

Based at the South Metro Community Alcohol and Drug Service Fremantle and working within the court system, the role offers support and counselling to Aboriginal clients who have been referred into treatment from the courts and police. The successful applicant will have the ability to work with the Aboriginal community to inform and support Aboriginal people who may be in need of the service. A strong sense of community connection is essential, along with good communication and yarning skills. Applicants with interest and experience in the alcohol and other drug field or justice system are well suited to this role.
The position involves encouraging Aboriginal people facing court to think about the diversion program, liaising with court staff, conducting assessments for the program and following up with Aboriginal clients.
Salary range is: $74,238 to $80,818 per annum (pro rata).
