What You Will Be Doing

The Crisis Assessment Treatment Team (CATT) is a community based comprehensive assessment service providing assessment and home treatment to consumers requiring acute mental health support. The CATT conducts face-to-face holistic assessments in our Frankston, Mornington, Rosebud and Hastings community clinics as well as in the consumer’s home.

As a member of this multidisciplinary team your skills will be utilised within assessment, providing early discharge management and Mental Health Telephone Triage.

The CATT Mental Health Clinician provides mental health assessment and treatment to people who require urgent, short term or ongoing intensive community based mental health assessment, treatment and support.

What You Need

We anticipate you will have:

  • Registered Nurse, Social Worker, OT or Clinical Psychologist with relevant registration
  • RPN ONLY: Post graduate qualification in Mental Health or specialist undergraduate Mental Health program
  • Proven ability in the support of consumers with significant mental illness and in the techniques of assessment, crisis intervention, counselling, psychosocial rehabilitation and recovery oriented practice.
  • Extensive and recent experience in the mental health field including acute inpatient services and/or community mental health care.
  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering high quality outcomes for consumers.
  • Communicates well with and relates to consumers from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds.
