Port school is also a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) with the following qualifications on scope:
- Certificate II General Education for Adults
- Certificate II Hospitality
- Certificate II Furniture
- Certificate II Community Services
- Certificate II Art
- Certificate II Fitness (pending)
Our current RTO manager leaves for an overseas role in the coming weeks, so the position is available immediately for the successful candidate. Ideally with a period of handover and knowledge transfer before mid June.
The role could potentially be a Senior Management Position responsible for running all aspects of the RTO and is a fantastic opportunity to make real differences to young lives as they transition from Secondary school to a working life. The RTO Manager position is a 3 day a week role, however if you have other transferable educational and/ or teaching skills there is potentially an opportunity for a full-time position to be negotiated.
Your experience and duties
- Have a sound working knowledge of the 8 Standards for RTO’s (2015)
- Have experience leading a team through a Training Accreditation Council (TAC) audit
- Have experience in the development of a qualification including the writing, mapping, accreditation, implementation of delivery and ongoing management
- Manage progress of qualifications and units of competency with all trainers across our scope
- Provide professional development and general training for teachers conversant in the VET system as well as those new to VET programmes
- Coordinate CIV TAE training for staff inclusive of Industry and VET currency
- Experience in sourcing and implementing delivery of qualifications and units that are in addition to our scope
- Ability to manage VET programmes within a Secondary School environment, and across a range of varied departments
- Management of online training systems (LMS) and related auspice agreements
- Manage the progress and opportunities for our Work Placement officers (3) who coordinate traineeships, work experience, try-a-trades and actual jobs
- Ability to communicate well to management team, Principal and Board as required
- Be prepared to engage in external functions and events as they are planned, outside of normal school hours
What you will bring:
- A minimum of 3 years general RTO management experience managing business and trainers/assessors
- A thorough understanding of all RTO operational requirements, including Standards for RTOs 2015
- You will have industry and VET currency including a minimum of a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and preferably other Vocational certificates
- Knowledge of online training systems (LMS), their implementation and management
- A proven track record of successfully leading a team in a collaborative and motivated environment
- An understanding of traineeships and Post Port opportunities for our students
