The Role

We are currently looking for two Lead Support Workers for our new guest house, that has recently opened, Parkland Retreat in Noranda. The Lead Support Worker helps to support individuals with complex needs including sensory, physical and intellectual disabilities. Successful candidates must be available to work varied shift times, from Monday to Sunday.

As Lead Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the Team Leader in the day-to-day operation of the house
• Excellent time management and prioritising skills
• Be the ‘go to person’ on shift
• Encourage, support and assist our clients in their day-to-day activities
• Drive modified vehicles to accompany clients to appointments and social occasions
• Meet the unique needs of each individual by following their person centred plans and working towards their bigger life goals
• Mentor new staff and take a lead role in the absence of the Team Leader
• Maintain a welcoming home environment

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Experience working within the community services sector

• Effective mentoring/coaching skills
• Ability to efficiently problem solve, think clearly and quickly
• Relevant qualification within the disability sector (E.g. Cert III in Disability Services)
• A commitment to Rocky Bay’s Purpose and Values
• Effective time management skills and the ability to use your initiative

Essential:

• The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
• Current WA driver’s licence
• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Proof of current Influenza Vaccination
