Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) is a charitable organisation set up to help seriously ill children and their families. RMHC VicTas is one of eleven Ronald McDonald House Chapters across Australia providing Programs for seriously ill children and their families with our Ronald McDonald House being the more prominently known.
For thirty-two years Ronald McDonald House Parkville has been providing a warm, safe environment for thousands of families with children, particularly from regional areas, under the care of Royal Children's Hospital and other hospitals providing paediatric services. The Parkville House is one of four Ronald McDonald Houses in the RMHC VicTas Chapter.
A fantastic opportunity is available to join our team as House Manager to manage and oversee the running of Ronald McDonald House in Parkville. This is a hands-on role which focuses on effective facilities management as well as being supportive and responsive to the needs of families, staff and volunteers.
In this family focused position, reporting to the Executive Manager – Operations, your key responsibilities will include:
- Lead and manage the House operations;
- Liaise with families, including welcoming new families and being responsive to families needs in the House;
- Ensure House facilities are effectively maintained including planned and preventative maintenance;
- Foster a productive and engaged culture with staff and volunteers;
- Community engagement, including presenting to corporate and community groups;
- Developing relationships with hospital staff and relevant organisations to promote the Ronald McDonald House; and
- Ensure the House meets all regulatory requirements including occupational health and safety regulations and compliance with the RMHC license agreement.
We are looking for an experienced Manager who can ideally demonstrate experience in the following:
- Leadership experience within a health, education, customer service or community services organisation;
- Working with people from a variety of cultures and backgrounds;
- Experience in accommodation or facilities management;
- Experience working with volunteers; and
- Tertiary qualifications in community services, health, education, business or another relevant field.
