The RSB is seeking a new graduate Occupational Therapist to join our talented and growing team on a 12-month contract, to provide specialist services and support those who are blind or vision impaired.
RSB supports people in South Australia who are blind or have a vision impairment to gain new skills, be engaged in life, and grow confidence at home, work, and in their communities. RSB provides a range of specialist rehabilitation and community-based services to assist people who are blind or have a vision impairment to live as independently as possible.

We are looking for a new university graduate to join our Occupational Therapy team and also encourage Occupational Therapists who are early in their career and looking to work in a dynamic, innovative, and supportive team environment.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, energised, and eager individual who loves with working with people, can think quickly and problem solve, is adaptable and can bring forward new ideas and innovations for providing high quality and creative service for our clients.

As part of a team of 13 supportive and friendly OT’s, you will quickly build your skillset and get mentoring from highly experienced and diverse clinicians, who work with a large scale of clients across the disability and aged care sector.
You will be provided with a thorough induction program, mentoring and clinical supervision, access to continuing professional development opportunities, specific training to learn assessment, intervention, and application of strategies with a core focus on increasing independence in life skills and prescription of low vision aids/assistive technology.
The role will incorporate a mixed caseload of clients that receive funding through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and Home Care Packages, with additional work provided under the Commonwealth Home Support Program. The role is based at our Gilles Plains offices and is community based, with flexible working arrangements and attractive salary packaging available.

A sound knowledge and understanding of vision impairment and empathy for people who are blind or vision impaired is highly desirable but not essential.

A satisfactory Department of Human Services screening clearance in Aged and Working with Children and NDIS check and a current Driver’s Licence, as well as the ability to travel independently are required. The role involves some travel and evening and weekend work when required.
