The RSPCA Qld presents an exciting opportunity for an industry professional or an aspiring manager to join their team at the Bundaberg Animal Care Centre.  

About the role:

You will provide vital help to all creatures great and small by managing a busy Animal Care Centre based in Bundaberg.

Your duties and responsibilities will be:

• Managing the day to day operations of the Animal Care Centre;
• Managing, coaching and training all animal care staff;
• Performing a wide range of community duties, including public education;
• Performing best practice in animal husbandry;
• Centre maintenance and cleanliness/hygiene.

You will be totally responsible for all day-to-day activities of the Animal Care Centre. Maintaining a high level of customer service is a key factor in this role.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience in a managerial / supervisory  capacity;
• Strong communication skills;
• Exceptional time management skills;
• High level of staff management skills;
• A solid understanding of financial management and commercial acumen;
• Experience in the animal welfare or related industry coupled with excellent animal handling skills would be advantageous.

A Degree in Animal Husbandry/Science or Certificate IV in Vet Nursing would be highly regarded.

This is a full time hands-on position based at the Bundaberg Animal Care Centre. The ordinary working hours for the successful incumbent shall be a nominal 40 hours per week and applicants must be available to work weekends on a regular basis.
