About the Role

RSPCA Victoria have an exciting new opportunity for an Organisational Capability Manager to join our People & Infrastructure team in a permanent full-time capacity. Reporting to the Head of People & Infrastructure, you will play a key role in leading the development and implementation of strategies and practices that ensures that the organisation has the right resources and capability to achieve its objectives.

Further to this, the Organisational Capability Manager will be integral to shaping and implementing our People Strategy, as well as leading organisation wide programs to improve our engagement and culture – including in key areas such as mental health and wellbeing and diversity and inclusion.

This is a really unique position that would be suitable for someone that has an Organisational Development background, combined with the ability to lead a number of diverse functions and projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of People & Infrastructure, you will:

  • Manage, lead, train and develop a small team of staff and volunteers to the highest levels of performance, engagement, and job satisfaction.
  • Proactively partner with the business to establish their current and future resourcing and capability requirements to enable them to achieve their objectives.
  • Embed and enhance the centralised recruitment model for recruiting employees and volunteers, ensuring that the organisation is well resourced to achieve its strategic and operational objectives.
  • Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of learning and development programs to build the capability of employees and volunteers across the organisation.
  • Lead the implementation of talent management and succession planning strategies to support the retention of employees and future proof the organisation.
  • Lead the development of programs to build leadership capability across the organisation in accordance with the RSPCA Victoria Capabilities Framework.
  • Support the implementation of the RSPCA Victoria People Strategy (2019-2023), including initiatives to improve the organisational culture and the engagement and experiences of our people. Specifically, this role will lead initiatives relating to leadership development, diversity and inclusion and mental health and wellbeing.

What we are looking for from you

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business/Education/Human Resources and/or relevant field.
  • Previous experience developing and implementing people strategies and practices that ensures that the organisation has the right resources and capability to achieve its objectives.
  • Previous experience in leading and developing high performing teams.
  • Previous experience developing, facilitating and evaluation learning and development programs, complimented with a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • High level literacy, numeracy and problem-solving skills, including intermediate computer skills (including use of Microsoft Office Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and challenging work environment.
  • This position also requires a valid driver’s license.
