Are you tired of it all coming down to the money?
Negative client interactions taking a toll on your mental health?
Do you want to get back to your roots and find the passion that drove you to become a vet?
Do you want to be practising high quality surgery and medicine in a way that will make a real impact on the welfare of all creatures, great and small?
Then it's time to look at a career with RSPCA Victoria.
Life at RSPCA Victoria is varied and exciting. We perform in house orthopaedic surgery with Dr Wing Tip Wong, behavioural medicine with Dr Gabrielle Carter and when work up or treatment is beyond our capacity is required, we are supported by external specialists.
We have a heavy emphasis on CE with Dr Natalie Webster holding monthly imaging rounds, Dr David Clarke giving a two-day dental workshop and Dr Bruce Parry holding cytology sessions all lined up for this year. And it doesn’t have to be just cats and dogs; you might find yourself developing a special skill or interest in exotics or explore leadership and mentoring opportunities; the lateral room for career growth is limited only by you.
At RSPCA Victoria euthanasia is only performed when it is in the best interest for the welfare of the patient - we do not euthanise based on resources or capacity. We have a strong emphasis on team culture, work life balance and mental health. But by far one of the best aspects of working alongside likeminded vets and nurses who are dedicated to speaking up on behalf of the underdogs (and cats, and exotics) of the animal world.
If you'd like to explore the successfully balancing a career and family and truly get back to what inspired you to become a vet, forward your expression of interest and CV to Bronwyn at [email protected] using the subject line: Veterinarian enquiry via EthicalJobs for a confidential discussion.
If this role is of interest to you, submit your application with your cover letter and resume, addressing how you meet the selection criteria.
RSPCA Victoria is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive work environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment and we strongly encourage people from all cultural backgrounds to apply, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Applicants are welcome to access RSPCA Victoria’s Diversity & Inclusion Policy here.
