A job with passion! An incredible opportunity for an environmentally and social aware Cafe Coordinator to run our two social enterprise cafes at RMIT.
RUSU Realfoods is all about providing affordable healthy fairtrade, organic vegan and vegetarian food options to students. Realfoods serves quality barista made fairtrade coffee (Amelia Franklin), sweet and savory snacks, as well as meals (curries, stir fry etc), soups, and salads made onsite. Our cafés on the City and Bundoora campuses have been purpose built to meet our needs and reflect our values. The Cafés operate Monday to Fridays 8am – 4pm (with reduced hours outside semester time).
Salary: $76,459 Full time equivalent ($61,167 for 0.8 FTE) ($42/hour) plus superannuation
Description: Part Time. Minimum 28 hours/ week (rostered between Monday to Friday)
Temporary Contract: Late June 2018 – 7 December 2018.
The Realfoods Cafe Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of the café operations across City and Bundoora campus. This includes: rosters, staffing, volunteer coordination, compliance matters such as Food Safety, administration, and providing strategic advice on menu, budget development and business matters.
They are responsible for the daily in café operations of the RUSU Realfoods Cafe in the City (three-four days/week) and one day per week at the Bundoora Cafe (during semester).
At the core of the role are the everyday operational tasks involved in staffing the Cafe such as, cash transactions, stock control, visual merchandising, customer service, food preparation and cleaning. This position is also responsible for making high quality coffee and hot drinks at peak times and in the absence of the barista.
Training, supporting and mentoring the student volunteers and student casual staff is also central to this position.
