WHO WE ARE

Rainbow Muse Clinic Pty Ltd is based in (Naarm) Melbourne and offers art therapy, psychology, child-centred play therapy, animal-assisted therapy and yoga in an inclusive environment that celebrates diversity.

We are a women-owned practice, and our aim is to create a safe and non-clinical space for people who don’t like, or don’t easily fit into boxes. We specialise in working with children and their families, but also see grown ups too.

Our clinicians have a social justice lens, and a commitment to anti-racist work with diverse clients. We have a longstanding commitment to working with CALD communities in the south eastern suburbs, including community engagement, delivering culturally sensitive training programs and therapeutic services. The majority of our referrals come from community organisations, and domestic violence organisations where we apply for funding to ensure that marginalised groups can access mental health care without paying out of pocket costs.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We are currently looking for an incredible psychologist or mental health social worker to join our amazing and supportive team as a sub-contractor, 2-5 days per week.

You will have:

• Completed a Masters Program in Psychology or Social Work
• AHPRA or AASW Registration, and your own insurance.
• A Medicare Provider Number
• Understanding of neurodiversity-affirming care, and a desire to provide a safe and inclusive space for marginalised groups of people from diverse backgrounds
• A trauma-informed lens to your practice.
• A commitment to being anti-racist and decolonising therapy.
• A self-reflective practice that brings into perspective your own experiences and biases when working with all groups
• A client-cantered approach to working that allows for flexibility and learning
• Capacity to work collaboratively with families and parents when supporting young people.
• A high level of accountability and self-management, and enjoy working collaboratively with team members to deliver positive outcomes for clients

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

You will see Rainbow Muse Clinic clients from our referral pool.

You can do a mixture of outreach, telehealth from home, and in-clinic work at our amazing Rainbow Clinic in Dandenong.

Our primary referrals are for young people and their families who are marginalised, or who sit on the intersection of multiple identities. It is imperative that you have an interest and passion for working with:

• LGBTQAI+ people
• Neurodivergent people
• First Nations Peoples
• People of Colour

You can bring your experience and skills and loving heart to our clinic, and create magic with us.

WHO YOU'LL BE WORKING WITH

Chenai Mupotsa-Russell and Sammy Elliott are the Directors of Rainbow Muse Clinic. We also have an incredible multidisciplinary team of art therapists, lived experience consultants, psychologists, play therapists and support workers. And there is a therapy dog too!

WHAT WE OFFER

• $115-$140 per hour per client (sub-contracting)

Rainbow Muse Clinic values other therapists as part of our decolonial practise and recognition of the need for a broad range of therapeutic intervention. This role is specifically for a Psychologist or Mental Health Accredited Social Worker as the applicant needs to have a Medicare Provider Number to see clients on a Mental Health Treatment Plan.
