Primary Health Care Manager (Identified) - Aurukun

  • Status: Full Time Fixed Term (until 30 June 2025)
  • Salary: $108,247 - $118,088 p.a. + 10.5% superannuation

You will be provided with an attractive remuneration package:

  • Either community based accommodation, or an accommodation allowance (annual contribution $13,998)
  • Relocation assistance of up to $5000.00 (as applicable)
  • Remote allowance of $100.00 per week
  • 4 x professional development flights to Cairns per annum
  • 2 x personal flights per annum
  • Once off long-term engagement bonus of $3000.00 after 18 months of employment.

About Us

Apunipima Cape York Health Council is a community controlled Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander health service, which provides culturally appropriate, family centred, primary health care services to the communities and people of Cape York.

About the Opportunity

This position will lead and manage the day to day operations of the Aurukun Primary Health Care Centre, ensuring integrated and comprehensive service delivery consistent with the Apunipima Model of Care, local health plans and organisational requirements.

It is a condition of employment for this position that the employee be vaccinated against COVID-19 in accordance with organisational policy requirements.

Pre-employment screening for vaccination against Vaccine Preventable Diseases will be conducted for the successful applicant.

About You

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Hold a Diploma or higher qualification in management, business, health or other related discipline; and have
  • Demonstrated experience managing the day to day delivery of services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, preferably within the community health sector
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, allocate resources, oversee and supervise staff in a complex environment
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective communication and collaborative partnerships with a range of internal and external stakeholders within a cross-cultural environment and specifically with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities
  • Understanding of the historical and contemporary issues that impact on Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people and their communities, particularly in Cape York
  • Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people in accordance with community protocols and customs
  • Current Blue Card positive notice or exemption, or willing and able to obtain prior to commencement
