Community Liaison Officer - Social Worker

The Respect Project involves the Redcliffe community working together to create a culture of respect in all interactions.

The Respect Project has just been successful in obtaining funds to trial a new position. This trial involves having a community liaison person working with state schools and their families in the local area. The ideal candidate will be a communication channel between the schools and families to obtain harmonious, productive and respectful relationships that improve outcomes for students. The successful candidate will need to have a clear understanding of the goals of the Respect project and work to promote these goals in wider community.

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Social Worker to join our Respect Team on a Part-Time basis (hours will be negotiated with the successful applicant). This person will be an integral member of this pilot project and will be responsible for the implementation and reporting of the project to all stakeholders.

  • Self-motivated, and goal-directed.
  • Able to motivate others to find independence and their own solutions to issues.
  • Patient in working with others.
  • Excellent time management skills, and deadline conscious.

How you will be assessed:

1. Supports strategic direction

Knowledge, or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge, of human service delivery particularly in relation to current practices, trends and issues relating to the provision of services to students and their families.

2. Achieves results

Ability to operate effectively within a mutli-disciplinary team using a case management practice framework.

3. Supports productive working relationships

Demonstrated ability to organise own work, working both independently and as a team member, to maintain confidentiality, and reliability in meeting commitments.

4. Displays personal drive and integrity

Understanding, or ability to acquire an understanding, of the operations of a state school in Queensland and the applicable legislation and policies.

5. Communicates with influence

Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills to liaise effectively with a diverse range of people and with representative groups and service delivery agencies.
