ABOUT THE ROLE:

In this role you’ll be working with a small, tight-knit and passionate team, working to deliver on one particular project, the Canberra Electric Bike Library, in collaboration with external stakeholders.

This public facing role will require you to maintain a booking system for the ebike library, assisting loanees with information and courteous correspondence, maintaining meticulous records, engaging with the general public at events, helping with event planning and implementation, attending stakeholder meetings for effective collaboration with external partners and some bike maintenance tasks.

The role will involve flexible work with a non-standard weekly roster and can involve some working from home. Help at occasional weekend events will be required, with corresponding penalty rates applied. SELECTION CRITERIA:

ESSENTIAL

  1. Confidence in basic bike maintenance and a willingness to learn about electric bikes
  2. Some customer service or public-facing experience, preferably higher-level community engagement experience
  3. Experience working effectively in a small team
  4. A demonstration of meticulous record keeping
  5. Ability to work independently and the initiative to improve processes when necessary

DESIRABLE

  1. Bike mechanic experience
  2. Event planning experience
  3. Excellent communication skills covering verbal and written communication, as well as social media or content creation experience
  4. A passion for sustainability in the urban context
