The Program
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown in Greater Sydney, the Federal Government has funded pop up Mental Health Hubs to:
- provide accessible, affordable mental health services and support in the community
- reduce pressure on Emergency Departments, and
- support GPs to provide treatment and care to people with mental ill health.
The One Door Mental Health Hubs will be delivered through a mix of video, phone, and face to face support.
The role
The Mental Health Clinician will:
- triage individuals presenting to the Mental Health Hubs using the Stepped Care model; and assess their clinical needs
- provide short term mental health support
- refer individuals to commissioned services in the local PHN area, to LHD services, or to a range of community based organisations.
- refer individuals to Mental Health Workers, Peer Workers and Youth Workers within the team as determined by need.
What we are looking for
- Tertiary qualifications in a health discipline, such as Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, Nursing
- Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or other equivalent body.
- An understanding of the recovery- based and trauma-informed approach to assisting people with mental health concerns.
- Knowledge of the NSW mental health system and local services; or demonstrated ability to rapidly develop this knowledge.
- Demonstrated experience in providing clinical assessments and short term mental health interventions.
- Strong relationship building skills to navigate, collaborate and develop partnerships within the NSW mental health system and local

- an application in process for the NDIS Worker Screening clearance at Service NSW
