Horizon House Ballarat provides support for young people aged 16-22 years who are in need of long term accommodation and care to enable them to access education, training and employment opportunities. Our focus is on giving them the stability, life-skills and support they need to achieve their individual goals and ultimately, make the transition to independent living.
We are currently seeking a motivated Youth Residential Caregiver to join our friendly and committed team on a 12 months full time fixed term basis.
Our Youth Residential Caregivers work in a residential care setting alongside the Support Coordinator, to provide intensive support and advocacy to our residents. Responsibilities also include coordinating, developing and implementing the Independent Life Skills Programmes in order to meet the individualised needs of the residents throughout their stay at Horizon House.
Applicants with previous residential experience who have a sound knowledge of a trauma informed approach to working with young people are encouraged to apply.
To be considered applicants must be available to work shifts across 7 days of the week, including weekends and public holidays on a rotating roster. Shifts will also include residential sleep overs.
