The Technical Coordinator oversees and develops the hardware and software systems that are on site at SYN’s office (SYN HQ), online platforms and radio studios. The position is responsible for maintaining and developing IT and network systems, maintaining servers, archive, and back-up systems. The Technical Coordinator provides consultative advice and strategic direction for SYN’s IT resources.
SYN has partnered with the Community Media Training Organisation and sector body Technorama to offer $10,000 worth of one-on-one mentoring and on the job training in the field of broadcasting technology and IT infrastructure for the successful applicant. Training will take place during work hours, as part of the position across a 6 – 9-month period. It will involve a series of in person site visits, online modules, and regular check ins with an industry mentor. SYN is looking for an individual, who has typical IT skills and training, who is excited to jump into and expand their knowledge of digital Broadcasting Technology.
