At Save the Children, we are passionate about supporting those affected by domestic and family violence (DFV) to rebuild their lives. At our Bridges crisis accommodation service in Brisbane, we provide women and children escaping DFV with urgent safe accommodation when they have nowhere else to go. We need you to provide case management, identify needs, assist with planning and work on sourcing safe and sustainable accommodation.

In this part-time fixed-term role (3 days per week, until June 2023), you will work within a team to provide support to women and children escaping domestic and family violence at our crisis accommodation service based in Brisbane. You will be required to work shifts from 2pm - 10pm Thursday, Friday and Saturday, including on call work as required. You will be part of the Bridges team and report to the Senior Crisis Accommodation Support Worker.

...You are an experienced support worker with high levels of initiative and flexibility. Alongside your sensitivity and cultural knowledge, these skills see you respond well in sudden crisis and complex situations. Your prior work within the sector has given you a thorough understanding of the impact of domestic violence on women and children, and a passion to support those affected. A good understanding of risk assessment and safety planning supports you to work effectively.
