Scalabrini Village is a not for profit residential aged care provider with a rich heritage spanning 50 years. We have a reputation for providing high quality care for people living with dementia and other complex care needs across 6 Residential Aged Care villages in NSW.
We are currently looking for an experienced WHS and Workers Compensation Manager to support the implementation of the organisation’s Health, Safety and Wellbeing strategy and deliver proactive management of the Return to Work Program, leading a Safety First culture at Scalabrini.
You deliver and monitor an efficient centralised Injury Management Service on behalf of the Group of Villages and actively contribute to the development of a safer and healthier workplace. You ensure an effective Return to Work Program is implemented and monitored whilst simultaneously meeting all related KPIs. You complete WHS and Injury Management data analysis and work to continuously identify opportunities to celebrate WHS successes and improvements.
Accompanying your exceptional customer service skills, you prioritise 100% compliance with WHS committees and organisational governance and actively contribute to the reduction in LTI injuries.
As part of the People, Learning and Culture (PLC) department you will collaborate with the PLC Director and Village Managers to improve WHS performance and implement improvement plans. You liaise with RTW Coordinators at each site, developing injury management strategies for injured workers and ensuring their return to work is managed as effectively as possible.
Whilst maintaining current knowledge of WHS, Workers Compensation and Workplace Injury Management regulations, you have an ability to respond to WHS trends and patterns and have an ability to identify weaknesses/strengths in the application of WHS at Scalabrini.
In addition to supporting the PLC Director monitor Scalabrini’s compliance to WHS and the Return to Work program, you contribute to identifying and addressing systemic weaknesses and/or improvement opportunities. You have an ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with Insurers, Rehabilitation Provider(s) and WorkCover, acting as the single point of contact on behalf of Scalabrini.
In your position, you serve as a key member of the Group WHS Committee and Group Fire and Emergency Control Committee and oversee the Group’s centralised incident register and suitable duties register. You have exceptional organisational and management skills and are directly responsible for scheduling the annual Village WHS Committee calendar. You provide WHS and Injury Management advice and support/mentoring to Village Managers, WHS Committees and Return to Work Coordinators in every Village. You coordinate, collect and analyse the WHS data required for input into the monthly PLC Board Report and quarterly Board Finance and Risk Committee and promote early incident reporting and notification to Insurers.
You have exceptional interpersonal skills and ensure injured workers are consulted in the development and review of Recover at Work Plans and assist with identifying suitable duties.
You have demonstrated experience working with Payroll to ensure correct payment and reimbursement of workers compensation benefits is completed and ensure efficient workers compensation payment processes. You have an ability to closely monitor all Workers Compensation claims costs, ensuring close liaison with the Insurer and other third parties to minimise overall claims costs.
Your experience assists your oversight of Workers Compensation premium performance and ensure that claims performance is monitored on a quarterly and annual basis, in addition to meeting commercial objectives through proactive claims management and reviews.
