The opportunity

Silver Chain have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Therapy Assistant to join our diverse and dynamic team in Geraldton. Your clients will be in the Geraldton area and surrounding suburbs. The role will see you undertake rehabilitation and physical Reablement activities as directed by an Allied Health Professional to meet client needs. This role is a Permanent Part Time opportunity offering a minimum of 38hrs per fortnight with availability to work hours 3 days a week (currently Monday, Tuesday & Thursday) starting from 8.00am.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with delivery of best care to clients in their own homes receiving Allied Health services.
• Application of your knowledge, skills and training to meet clients needs within the scope of your role.
• Communication with the team regarding care provided to clients on an ongoing basis to ensure activities and care provided is consistent with their support plans and reflect any changing client needs.
• Identify areas for ongoing training and development.
• Maintain confidentiality of information.
• Adhere to Silver Chain Policies and Procedures.

About you

• Hold a Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Therapy Assistance as a minimum.
• Demonstrated experience in Aged Care activities and/or speech/mobility/occupational and/or cognitive therapies.
• A current Australian Driver’s License.
• Current Senior First Aid Certificate desirable but not essential
• Well-developed communication, time management and organisational skills.
• Able to work independently under supervision of an Allied Health professional.
• Demonstrate positive behaviours – be trustworthy, empathetic, reliable.
• Proficiency with technology would be an advantage.

Under the Aged Care act 1997, successful candidates will be required to provide a satisfactory National Police Clearance prior to commencement.
