Assistant Food Truck Manager

For Change Co.

About us

For Change Co. is a fast-growing social enterprise based in Melbourne with the mission of creating pathways out of homelessness for young people. We established Australia’s first non-profit crepe van, Crêpes for Change, in 2015 and have since opened a coffee cart and four cafes across Melbourne (Middle Park, Brunswick, Bellfield and a corporate cafe at Lifeblood) - all of which host our training program participants. Along with this, 100% of profit from our work goes directly into our impact work.

Our amazing team is passionate and dynamic with big dreams of changing the world; sparked by the vision of eliminating youth homelessness. Our values of passion, transparency, collaboration, inclusivity, and agility come through every day in the work that we do and the outcomes that we deliver, with an ongoing focus of creating a diverse community committed to our mission.

about the role

This is a casual role involving approximately 2-3 shifts per week on average (negotiable), paid at the award-wage rate per hour plus superannuation.

We’re looking for an assistant manager to help with our event load. Suitable for someone looking for a flexible work schedule – the shifts can be sporadic, as they are scheduled around event bookings.

With the opportunity to work across our 4 other venues, you have the option to take on just this role or work more hours - based on your needs!

Responsibilities include:

  • Driving the food truck (manual transmission).
  • Running the food truck during events, including at markets, schools, festivals and private events.
  • Supervising volunteer staff members and training new volunteers.
  • Ensuring that the quality of products and customer service is consistently exceptional.
  • Ensuring the food truck is clean and stock is replenished at the end of each event.

You could be our next Food Truck Manager if:

  • You can confidently drive a manual transmission car & have a current driver's licence.
  • You have strong customer service experience and are up for a challenge.
  • You enjoy training and working with others, including volunteers.
  • You are highly organised, responsible, and reliable.
  • You want to have a sustainable impact in eliminating youth homelessness.

This role will be casual, paid at the Fast Food Industry Award Level 3, plus superannuation.
