For over 165 years we have been in Victoria assisting people through the challenges of poverty and exclusion address suffering, advocating against inequality and promoting human dignity and self-determination.

Overall, the group of companies of St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria has many arms and services. These include soup vans, education programs, home visitation programs and VincentCare Victoria, which provides a range of services and programs for people who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness and disadvantage. This includes crisis accommodation, drug and alcohol dependency programs, and housing.

A little about the Role

This is a unique opportunity, responsible for assisting in the development of innovative new ways of raising revenue outside of the traditional shop retail model. The Retail team encompasses 110 Shops, 3 Warehouses, 2 Call Centres, Material Aid, retail marketing, online sales, a Retail Support Office and a fleet of trucks. The Account Manager role will also assist the Retail team to identify areas of revenue growth. This will enable the Retail team to sustainably grow revenue to meet the needs of the Society in addressing the problem of financial and social disadvantage. The role incorporates a combination of account management of both existing and new relationships with companies and donors.

As the Commercial Account Manager, you will be joining the incredible Commercial team to:

  • Communicate effectively with the team and actively engage in order to drive team’s KPIs and productivity.
  • Monitor on performance, budgets and reports on targeted revenues in order to provide monthly update to the leadership.
  • Develop and coordinate the delivery of revenue projects, with an emphasis on utilising partnership approaches, including existing and new networks.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Retail Leaders, volunteers and other stakeholders in order to drive performance to meet the goals of the team.
  • Develop public relations, corporate, media, retail marketing strategies and opportunities for Retail in consultation with the Marketing and Fundraising team.

Crucial to the success of the role will be your team focused approach to service delivery typified by your ability to quickly establish professional credibility and rapport with a range of stakeholders. Your ability to communicate complex information to a variety of audience is second to none which enables you to establish collaborative working relationships with ease.

You are enthusiastic, highly organised, detail orientated and driven by a commitment to continuous improvement. You will bring a "hands on" approach and be a proactive operator who thrives on great outcomes for your key stakeholders.

About You

  • Professional experience in a similar position with strong exposure to business development, account management, and sales.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated strategies to maintain and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experience in influencing teams to drive performance.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
