The St Vincent de Paul Society is a leading provider of community support services and has close to 100 Special Works across the State in the areas of homelessness, mental health, disability, financial counselling, supported accommodation, food provision, refugees and migrants and addiction counselling. SVDP Society NSW provides a range of supports for people with disability across NSW through services managed by Sydney Archdiocese, Support Services and Newcastle/Maitland Central Councils. Alongside these services, the SVDP Society NSW has also been commissioned by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) to provide local area coordination (LAC) to ensure people with disability who are currently receiving supports from NSW or Commonwealth Government disability programs experience a smooth transition to the NDIS.
The role of the NDIS Support Officer is to assist in the implementation of NDIS Plans for Participants (in conjunction with the external funded Support Coordinator) and to support and monitor the ongoing delivery of NDIS supports for Frederic House residents.
The position is also supported by the NDIS transition team in the execution of the role.
