Overview
Starick is undertaking a project to support implementation of a Respectful Relationships program for public primary and secondary schools across WA, including regional and remote schools. The program aims to build on the formal curriculum by supporting school staff to:

teach students about family and domestic violence
-
implement a whole of school approach to violence prevention
-
sustain respectful relationships education within their school beyond this program.
Position Information
Starick is responsible for the development and production of Respectful Relationships resource and training materials for WA schools including tailoring of existing materials and resources to the WA context, provision of training to school staff, provision of localised support, project data and information, and reporting.
The Project Officer responsibilities include:
- Connecting with schools enrolled in the program to provide first point of contact as well as supporting them with all aspects of the program.
- Providing local input to resource and training materials around managing disclosures.
- Connecting with local domestic violence resources in areas where training is to occur.
- Practical organisation of local training sessions, forums and other meetings, including facilitating training for adult learners as required.
- Providing domestic violence specific input at teacher training sessions.
- Proactively engaging with schools enrolled in the program to assist them in developing their individual Respectful Relationships implementation plans.
- Collecting, monitoring and reviewing local data as appropriate.
- Initiating and coordinating key stakeholder networking.
- Preparing reports and drafting routine correspondence.
- Preparation and distribution of agendas, attend meetings, prepare minutes and provide follow up support for meetings.
- Other duties as required.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of family and domestic violence issues and relevant services.
- Understanding of gender-based violence.
- Proficient with the keyboard and IT applications.
- Expert level in the use of Outlook.
- Intermediate level in the use of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Understanding of gender-based violence and knowledge of family and domestic violence issues and relevant services.
- Experience in a similar role in an environment requiring tact, judgement and discretion in handling internal and external demands.
- Experience in organising and facilitating workshops and forums.
- Experience in successfully working with stakeholders.
- Good public speaker and confident to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
- Experience in responding to disclosures of family and domestic violence and/or providing de-briefing and referrals as appropriate.
- General knowledge of the Western Australian schooling sector.
