Community & Sustainability Leader - Byron Bay

Stone & Wood Brewing

With great people on board and a bright future ahead, the Stone and Wood story is reaching its next chapter. Our Fermentum Family of businesses continues to grow with an exciting portfolio of products, highly engaged teams and our ongoing commitment to being a leading conscious business. Not to mention we make great brews and love what we do!

Grounded in our values, we aspire to look after the people and the environment around us – and we now have an amazing opportunity to join us in making beer a force for good.

As our Community & Sustainability Leader, you will support the coordination and implementation of community engagement plans, conscious business practices & work closely with our production and environmental teams to bring our sustainability goals to life. This role includes an internal and external focus, building momentum and engagement with our own people as well as our broader community.

Some of your key responsibilities will be:

  • Driving strategies, responsibilities and goals outlined in our long term plan
  • Progressing our conscious business leadership gap analysis & priority areas
  • Lead our B Corp status; renewals & active contribution to this community
  • Identify and support projects which improve our environmental footprint
  • Implement and support local Community Action Plans
  • Be an active member of the InGrained Foundation Board
  • Lead staff committees, forums and working groups to achieve the desired outcomes
  • Speak on behalf of our business at public events, conferences and workshops

This is truly a role for someone who wants to be based in and behave as an active member of our vibrant Northern Rivers community – this is essential! You will be experienced in a senior or influential role in community engagement or conscious business, and ideally have some experience or exposure to sustainability. You don’t need to be an environmental expert, but a passion for looking after place and planet is important. You will be a role model, a motivator, a supporter and coordinator of lots of good stuff – and the right person for us will balance all of that with a sound commercial lens and understanding of business as well as a humble, engaging and down to earth style.

We may consider part time hours (min 3 days per week) for the right person!

We are an equal opportunity employer. We value diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all our employees.
