About the service:

The Head to Health Tasmania Phone line provides mental health assessments, referrals and service navigation support to adults experiencing mental health concerns, their family and friends. Working from the Head to Health Launceston service this pilot program provides phone-based services to callers outside of the Launceston region seeking information, referral, assessment and support to manage mental health and psychosocial difficulties. 

Working within a recovery-orientated stepped care approach the successful applicant will be part of a multidisciplinary team.

Role overview:

  • Medical Reception duties include answering incoming calls and directing the caller to the appropriate member of staff or health professional
  • To meet and greet consumers, members of the public and visitors to the practice in a friendly and courteous manner
  • Appointment scheduling and maintenance of clients including the ability to register consumers into client management system.
  • General Office duties and maintenance including and not limited to opening and distribution of mail typing, scanning, filing and archiving and preparing documentation for clinical team
  • Assist in the closing and securing of the building at the end of the day
  • Attend team meetings.
  • Attend training courses in house and externally to develop expertise and further knowledge.
  • General housekeeping to ensure a clean and safe environment for staff and clients
  • Ensure maintenance of privacy and confidentiality in relation to consumers.
  • Adhere to appropriate standards of safety, welfare and health care for staff and consumers
  • Ensure compliance with Stride’s policies and procedures including Code of conduct, Occupational Health and Safety, and Quality Systems.

Requirements:

  • Ideally a completed Cert III in Medical/Business Administration (or other relevant qualification)
  • Excellent administration, time management and organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of the health /NFP sector with an ability to liaise with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Proven record in working closely with and being a successful member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated communication, interpersonal, problem solving and organisational skills
  • Well-developed customer service skills
  • Ability to think and act calmly and deal sensitively with distressed people.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills
  • Understanding of duty of care, rights to privacy and confidentiality
  • Must have good availability
  • Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a WWVP 
  • Must hold/be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearance 
  • A current unencumbered driver's license
