About the Role
As a Foster Care Officer, you will play a critical role in our organisation by coordinating the foster care program and ensuring the well-being of our animals in foster homes. You will work with multiple departments within our organisation and with foster families, to coordinate foster placements, provide support, and monitor the progress of our foster animals. Your dedication and commitment to the well-being of animals will contribute to finding permanent, loving homes.

- Previous experience in positions that require building rapport with clients.
- Some knowledge and experience in animal rescue, shelter, or foster care programs.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with foster families, adoption team members, and external partners.
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
- Knowledge of animal health and behaviour, including basic medical care and positive reinforcement training techniques.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative, self-motivation, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Proficiency in computer applications and record keeping systems.
- The successful applicant will also require an unrestricted driver’s license.
