To date, the community includes nearly 4,000 B Corps in over 70 countries and 150 industries, over 8,000 benefit corporations, and 100,000 companies managing their impact with the B Impact Assessment and the SDG Action Manager.

Globally, B Lab is building this movement through interrelated initiatives that serve, engage, and highlight the leaders of the movement, while providing all businesses with the concrete tools, products, programs, and partnerships to use business as a force for good.

The role

As the Standards Review team continues to expand, they are seeking (two) Standards Assessors to support growth of companies in the global Certified B Corporation movement. Specifically, this role will aid companies in the APAC region.

Standards Assessors work directly with companies to support them in verifying their performance in the B Impact Assessment (BIA) and adoption of the B Corporation legal framework, and completing the process for B Corporation Certification.

You will become an expert in applying the BIA standards and independently managing external relationships with companies. You will report to a Standards Review team manager, and work closely with colleagues on the Standards Review, Standards Management, and Product Development teams, as well as with the network of Global Partners working in the local markets where the companies operate.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing companies’ B Impact Assessment (i.e., analysing and commenting on data about the company’s social and environmental performance) accurately and efficiently within the process for certification
  • Managing companies in the process of validating their assessment responses by phone, in the B Impact Assessment App, through supporting documentation, and via B Lab’s Site Review processes.
  • Guiding companies through the B Corp Legal Framework and legal requirements for certification.
  • Explaining the standards, certification requirements, and timelines collaboratively with team members, Global Partners, key contacts at B Corps and prospective B Corps and/or their consultants.
  • Providing basic technical support to companies using the BIA assessment platform.
  • Providing continual feedback to the team that manages the Standards to support the improvement of the Standards and the ratings process.
  • Providing concrete suggestions for companies to improve their score, when applicable.
