The role you could play

We are seeking a dedicated Casual Cleaner! You will provide a high quality standard of cleaning and waste management at our Flagstaff and The Open Door. Additionally, as being a part of The Homelessness Melbourne Metro Cleaning Service, you will join a collaborative team to support single men experiencing homelessness and mental health issues.

Duties

  • Respond to any emergency cleaning situations such as blood spills, shower/toilet or basin overflows, bathroom accidents
  • Ensure high standard of cleanliness in outdoor environments including the entrance to buildings and garden settings
  • Work with Community Support Team to assist Resident luggage storage systems
  • Complete vacuuming, mopping, polishing floors, dusting, general tidying, mange recycling and high-pressure outdoor cleaning
  • Be available to work a flexible roster including availability on weekends

This is a casual position based in West and North Melbourne, VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 2.1 Award.

The ideal candidate will have

  • Minimum 12 months' experience cleaning and desirable to have worked within the Community Sector
  • Qualification in Certificate 3 Cleaning Operations preferred
  • A positive outlook and customer service attitude
  • Flexibility to work during weekends and holidays
  • An understanding of manual handling, hygiene standards & OHS regulations
  • The physical ability to undertake all cleaning duties
  • Valid Driver's Licence
  • Full Covid Vaccination status
  • Valid Employee Working with Children's Check
  • A disclosure of pre-existing heal conditions that may impact fulfilment of position requirements
