Salvos Stores is seeking to employ a Warehouse Assistant to work at our main warehouse/ distribution centre for our operations in Wollongong. Based at Unanderra, the position will be responsible for: Donated goods are effectively and accurately sorted for store use in a timely manner. Receive and sort donated goods.
This includes sorting clothing and goods, and determining such goods appear to be of sufficient quality to be re sold in our Stores.
Baling clothing, loading or unloading stock from trucks, maintaining cleanliness of the work area and disposal of unusable items. Meeting their occupational Health and Safety obligations.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to really make a difference in the lives of people, as all funds raised from the sale of our donated goods are channeled into The Salvation Army's social & community programs. This position has the following mandatory requirements:

Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment. Understanding of OH&S issues affecting the work area. Ability to work under supervision and to work in accordance with a schedule. Demonstrated understanding of the principles of customer service. An understanding, empathy, appreciation and the ability to promote the values and ethos of The Salvation Army.
