Taronga is seeking an experienced Relationship Manager within the Philanthropy team to help drive income to deliver world class conservation projects. If the opportunity to be based at Taronga’s iconic zoo every day really excites you… then there is no better role for you than this!!

About the Role

The position is responsible for driving income from mid and major donors for a range of Taronga’s conservation projects including capital campaigns.

Develop strategic and operational activities that drive and deliver the Taronga Foundations mid and major donor income stream as part of the Major Gift program. Working closely with the Individual Giving Manager and the major gifts team in the delivery of fundraising activity to achieve a combined income target of $50 million over the next 4 years.

Key Accountabilities

  • Drive the development and growth of the major and middle donor program with a focus multiyear giving and increasing supporter investment.
  • Research opportunities to engage new and existing middle and major donors and build relationships, developing tailored communications and engagement plans.
  • Use negation and influencing skills to match donor requirements and wishes to Taronga funding needs.
  • Work closely with the CEO and other Senior members of the Taronga team to secure gifts and steward donors.
  • Responsible for developing tailored presentations specifically to meet donors personal interests and ensuring written proposals are of the highest quality.
  • Maintain accurate records on the database (ThankQ) of all contacts with middle donors and prospects.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with appropriate stakeholders both internal and external to ensure financial targets are achieved and internal understanding of fundraising is increased.

About You

We are looking for candidates that have:

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in fundraising, ideally in a similar role.
  • Hold a current NSW Drivers License or ability to have existing license formally recognised, including manual.
  • Working with Children Check
