Toongabbie Legal Centre (TLC) is an unfunded not-for-profit community based organisation providing legal assistance and advice to those in the Western Sydney area who are unable to seek the help of private lawyers, or who have difficulty accessing legal services or seeking help from Legal Aid. The Legal Practice Coordinator is a newly created role that will manage and provide guidance and leadership to our volunteer legal team as well as developing TLC's community education programmes. The position will also ensure that TLC meets all its regulatory obligations and work with the Community Engagement Officer across several key projects.

about you

Applicants must have:

  • Five years post admission as a legal practitioner with advocacy experience being highly regarded
  • Ability to engage a volunteer workforce and build an encouraging and supportive workplace to ensure attraction and retention of same
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills with demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively with others and build rapport
  • Efficient administration skills and a demonstrated capacity to implement systems and processes for business sensitive requirements
  • Ability to develop and deliver training and education programmes in line with TLC's requirements
  • Ability to work flexible hours to deliver some TLC programmes and own motor vehicle as position requires travel.
